Sherman here again. I want to take a moment to share a more personal side of our journey to launching IMANSA. Starting a new company isn’t easy—it’s a rollercoaster of excitement, challenges, and learning experiences. So, consider this a bit of a confession.
The IMANSA Journey
When I first had the idea for IMANSA, I was driven by my love for style and my desire for a brand that truly represented my identity. The process has been anything but straightforward. There have been sleepless nights, countless revisions, and moments of doubt. But every step has brought us closer to creating something truly special.
We’re not just making underwear; we’re crafting pieces that blend comfort, quality, and a story that resonates. The name IMANSA itself is a testament to this vision—“I” for identity, and “Mansa” from the Mandinka tribe, meaning "King." Our goal is to remind every man that they are a king, deserving of the best.
The Process
Right now, we’re in the final stages of perfecting our designs. I’ve been working closely with vendors to ensure that every piece meets our high standards. It’s a meticulous process, but it’s all worth it when I see the final product. We’re starting with underwear because it’s an easier market to introduce IMANSA to consumers. Once we establish a following, we’ll expand our line, just like Hugo Boss did.
Budget has been a big consideration. We’re starting small, focusing on getting the basics right before moving on to bigger things. It’s about building a solid foundation and growing from there.
